Aamir Khan and Pritam’s last collaboration was not exactly a masterpiece. But with what looks like a winner from the “Chillar Party” director, let us see what Pritam has in store for us this time. “ HAANIKAARAK BAPU ” is a lyrical as well musical gem which oozes with creativity. Everything about this song seems apt. Firstly, Pritam dishes out a very catchy Rajasthani folk tune topping it with a rock feel. The tune itself along with the arrangements is a winner. Secondly, the two singers – Sarwar Khan & Sartaz Khan Barna are fabulous. Be it their perfectly-in-tune rendition or their prose portions, they are terrific. The chorus portions are very good too. But the real winner of the song is Amitabh Bhattacharya. Listen to every single word of the song carefully and you will realize what potential he has. His lyrics are awesome. It has happened only once in the last eleven years that a movie by “Excel entertainment” has had a full soundtrack by someone other than Shankar – Ehsan – Loy (Unless You count the guest compositions by medival punditz in Don and Karthik calling Karthik). And it was for the film “Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.” whose music was by Vishal – Shekhar. Now it happens a second time that someone else replaces the regular trio for Excel, and it is Ram Sampath. Coincidentally both these movies have been directed by Reema Kagti. “MUSKAANEIN JHOOTHI HAIN” is a typical thriller song. With slow beats and a superb tune, it is the sultry voice of Suman Sridhar which makes this song sheer brilliance. Everything about the song reminds us of those thrillers of the 1980’s. And with a video featuring Kareena Kapoor “Khan” (And her extra bright lipstick), this song is sure to become a sure shot hit. There is something very addictive about it. Love him, or hate him, Aamir khan certainly took people by storm, at times due to his topics, at times due to his fees (allegedly 3 crore per episode), and also due to his supposedly genuine emotional outbursts on the show. He brought up topics which we all were aware of. But then India is a funny country. People prefer to listen to Aamir khan rather than Anoop Soni. I am also a fan of ‘Satyamev Jayate’. But I was shocked to see the episode on 27th May, 2012. You are an Icon. You should have thought well and done the homework before doing such a biased show. There are only two people in the film industry that are being taken seriously by the thinking class of society, You and Amitabh Bacchhan. So, when you give such a biased and one sided version of a story, it hurts. Speaking about such a thing on a “commercial” TV show is bad. (I am sure you have taken a big amount, only doctor are supposed to do charity and social work, not actors!!! Right!) I want to highlight few important points here.
