SPOILERS AHEAD Films based on women are of various types in our hindi film industry. There are few who spend the entire two and a half to three hours glorifying women, going overboard, exaggerating everything, desperately trying to prove that women are supreme. These films will have a climax laden and loaded with ultra heavy jingoistic dialogues, giving us the message that women are the best. And then there are few films which steer totally clear off all these shackles and simply focus on the story. Whatever message is supposed to be conveyed is automatically evident, without the need for any exaggerated dialogues and climax. “English Vinglish” belonged to this category; almost. “QUEEN” belong to this category too, but entirely! “Queen” is a movie which will linger in your mind for a long long time after you have finished watching it. This post contains spoilers and is for only those who have already seen “Kai po che”. When was the last time you actually marveled at what you are seeing on screen in a film? I experienced that moment of cinematic brilliance three days back while watching “Kai po che”. This is not a review. It is a post which recollects those extraordinary moments of “Kai po che” which made me smile, cry and look up at Abhishek Kapoor in respect and awe. The initial frame of the movie where we witness a few sports events itself grips us, as if preparing us for what is going to follow. And so we have three friends – Ishaan Bhatt, Omi Shastri and Govind Patel who bond more than all the glues available in the world. They are the perfect trio which anyone can identify with. Very rarely there comes a movie which tugs your heart even before it has released. “Kai Po che” is one such film. Based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel “The 3 mistakes of my life”, I am BADLY looking forward to it, mainly because – It is directed by Abhishek Kapoor whose last film “Rock on” was a brilliant one – classy and one of my all time favorites. The film is based in my state GUJARAT , and it is indeed a proud feeling believe me; seeing the picturesque locales of Diu and other places. The first trailer of the film – it was everything I had expected – reminiscent of Dil chahta hai in a big way. It is one of the finest trailers to have come out in a long time. Sushant Singh Rajput – even a trailer and two video songs are enough to know that the guy can act and emote marvelously. AND LASTLY – “AMIT TRIVEDI” . Enough said. “MAANJHA” is pure heaven.
