There are few movies which have a soundtrack as an aide to the script. While there are few movies which heavily rely on the soundtrack. The most recent example of this is “ROCKSTAR” – a film which needed an extraordinary soundtrack, and that is just what Rahman gave. Touted as India’s first dance film, director Remo D’souza goes a step further to make it in 3D. He also ropes in some of the country’s finest choreographers and dancers. And finally to make sure that there is someone who can act, we have Kay Kay Menon. And then there is Prabhudeva. Now this movie needs a great soundtrack – something which can provide ample opportunity for these dancers to show off their skills on screen, and at the same time sound good to the ears. After his first bolly movie “FALTU”, Remo once again ropes in the extremely talented and “under rated” Sachin – Jigar. This is reason enough to celebrate- for the first time, a gujarati film is all set to promoted on a national level. The first time i saw the trailer of KRJ, I was impressed. Here was a gujarati film which looked fresh, urban and promising. Even more exciting was the news that suraj jagan was singing a "rock" song in gujarati in the film. And so with a lot of expectations, i downloaded all the soundtracks from the film's official website, somewhat stunned by the massive playback singers list. "KEVI RITE JAISH" starts of beautifuly and the soulful voice of roopkumar rathod only enhances the beauty of the song. A song which highlights the yearning of a person who is about to leave his family and go to u.s.a, jainesh panchal's lyrics are touching and simple. If there is anyone today who can remotely come near to a.r rahman in terms of uniqueness,melody and quality, it is amit trivedi. ISHAQZAADE begins in an UDAAN-ish way, before javed ali takes over. A decent tune, and as usual, top notch singing, this track, i felt, has a similar layout to AAHATEIN (EMET). Shreya ghoshal joins javed in the last minute, and does a good job. CHHOKRA JAWAAN- clearly this duo of vishal and sunidhi chauhan is one of the best in present times. My reaction to the initial one minute was okay.i found the song just average.but as the song progressed,things got better. A gentle and well done change in the tempo in between, and then returning to the original tempo- LOVED IT. And the beats- aah. Pure garba and dandiya material. Vishal and sunidhi were clearly having a BALL out there, as they sing the song brilliantly, especially the jugalbandhi in between.
